Roof Leak Showing Up Only in One Specific Room — Why?
The defect on the roof isn’t necessarily directly above the room where you see the damage.
Water entering a flat roof doesn’t fall straight down into the building the way it might on a simpler structure. It travels along the decking, sometimes along framing members, before finding a path down into a specific room — which is why the affected room can be a genuine distance from the actual roof defect.
If a repair has been attempted directly above the affected room before and the leak keeps coming back, that’s a strong signal the actual source is somewhere else on the roof.
